What we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, and how to get it deleted.

We're a small earthmoving business, not a data company. We collect the least we can get away with: enough to call you back about a job, and enough to know which pages of this site are worth keeping.
This site is run by Bonville Forestry and Excavations Pty Ltd (ABN 83 654 611 364), trading as BFEx, of Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Australia. We are the ones responsible for the information described here.
The quote form asks for your name and phone number, the suburb of the job, which services you're after, and optional notes on rough size, access, timing and anything else about the job. That's all it asks for, and we don't ask for anything else on this site — no email field, no account, no payment details.
The form is delivered to us by Formspree, a third-party form service, which passes it to our inbox at info@bfex.com.au. Formspree keeps its own copy of each submission for a limited time on its servers in the United States; their handling is covered by their own privacy policy.
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It records things like the page you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you're on. It also records when someone taps a phone number, taps an email address, clicks one of our social icons, or submits the quote form.
Analytics never receives your name or phone number. We can see that a quote form was submitted; we can't match that to the form itself.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell repeat visits from new ones. We don't use advertising cookies, we don't run ad pixels on this site, and there's nothing here that follows you around the internet.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works fine either way.
| What | What we do with it |
|---|---|
| Name, phone, job description | Call you back, quote the job, and do the work if you go ahead. |
| Analytics | Work out which pages and services people care about, so we know what to write more of. |
That's the whole list. We don't sell personal information, we don't rent it, and we don't hand it to marketers.
Formspree's servers are in the United States and Google's are worldwide, so your details do leave Australia. If you'd rather they didn't, ring or email us instead of using the form.
Quote enquiries that don't turn into work stay in our inbox until you ask us to delete them (see below). Records for jobs we actually did are kept for seven years, because business records law requires it. Analytics data is kept on Google's standard retention setting.
To have your personal information deleted, email info@bfex.com.au with the subject line "Delete my data".
Tell us the name and phone number you gave us so we can find the right record. We'll confirm and delete within 30 days, and we'll tell you when it's done.
If it's about our Facebook or Instagram posting tool, just say so — there's nothing to look up, and the same 30 days applies.
If we've done paid work for you, we have to keep the invoice and job records for seven years by law. We'll delete everything else and say exactly what we kept and why.
Email the same address to ask what we hold about you, or to have something corrected. There's no charge, and we'll come back to you within 30 days.
We post on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. If you comment on or message those pages, the platform handles that under its own privacy policy, not this one; we see what any page owner sees.
We also run our own small posting tool, BFEx posting, connected to Meta. It publishes our reels to our Facebook Page and Instagram account, and reads the totals Meta gives any page owner — views, reach, likes, comments, follower counts. It does not read anything about you as an individual, and only we use it. To have anything it holds deleted, see Getting your information deleted.
Enquiries reach us over an encrypted connection and sit in password-protected accounts. We're a small business, not a bank — we take sensible precautions, but no system is perfectly secure and we won't pretend otherwise.
This site is for people hiring earthmoving services. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email info@bfex.com.au — we'd rather fix it than argue about it.
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of the page. The current version is always the one published here.
